because Nampo’s name is here.” Dr Dirk Strydom, Manager Grain Marketing and Economy at Agri SA gave an overview of the Grain sector in the Western Cape and shared the good news that the prospects of the harvest are good in the Overberg and the Swartland. He said: “We have to plan to be sustainable in agriculture. There is always something new in agriculture and I am optimistic about the future.” According to Mr Toit Wessels, Assistant Manager for marketing and Nampo at Grain SA, 287 exhibitors will be presenting their products and/or services to the Western Cape agricultural community from Wednesday 12, to Friday 14 September, at Bredasdorp Park in the Overberg. Visitors to Nampo Cape can look forward to seeing tractors, implements and the latest technology in action. The ever-popular 4x4 track will separate the men form the boys. The livestock show and programmes include sheep shearing demonstrations, a sheep counting competition, a wool improvement show, the Overberg Jersey show and Youth show, to name but a few The popular Nation in Conversation forum will also be presented at Nampo Cape and female visitors can look forward to an exciting ladies programme and flower exhibition. There will be plenty to eat and to drink and on Friday you can treat yourself to sheep’s head or tripe. Tickets are available at Computicket, and you don’t have to pay extra to attend any of the programmes or demonstrations. Bredasdorp Park will be open form 08:00 till 17:00 for the duration of Nampo Cape. Entrance tickets are R50 on Wednesday and R70 on Thursday and Friday.
