Turning your trash into treasure
By Melanie Kriel
J
ust like with socks, I have a problem with
earrings: Every now and again, my earring
pairs get separated and I end up with bunches of single
earrings. Knowing that I will most like never find their
partners, I can safely use the earring loops for brand
new pairs.
And seeing that our household has quite a healthy habit of consuming wine, I always tend to keep the corks
for future projects. Combining the earring loops and
the corks, we can turn seemingly useless objects into
something brand new.
What you will need:
Earring loops
Bottle corks
Some nail polish – colour of your choice
Method:
Step 1 – Remove the existing items from the earring
loops.
Step 2 – Cut the cork into equal thickness round sections.
Step 3 – Paint one side of the cut cork section with the
coloured nail polish.
Step 4 – with a thin piece of wire, stick it through the
cork and loop it through the earrings loop.
It is really as simple as that! You can also try all different types of colour to suit every outfit. Enjoy!
