“Forever”
by Elie Wiesel
We are takenLoaded up like possessions
Driven for days
Unloaded with so much aggresion
Some of us are sent to die
Others taken to work
We didn't live we just survived
And that we barely did.
Days then weeks then months turned into years
Those around me fell and didn't stand up
We were in constant fear
I thought only of living
When I was brought to the showers
It wasn't water that came out
It was a gas that came to devour
It suffocated us and we met death
Along with many others
I learned the meaning of forever.
“The Lily,”
by William Blake
The modest Rose puts forth a thorn,
The humble sheep a threat’ning horn:
While the Lily white shall in love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.
