Agent Entrepreneurs Dec 2015 | Page 3

fromMike As the year comes to a close, I find myself looking back at it with a lot to be thankful for. 2015 has been quite a year for me personally and for my family. Just recently Front Street Brokers celebrated the grand opening of our new branch office in Eagle, Idaho. My office continues to grow. Even though I don?t advertise or recruit, I keep having amazing agents seek out my office because of our reputation and innovative business culture. We started the year with 10 agents at my brokerage, and now we are closing in on 20 agents. My goal is to grow the office to 25-30 agents, but I don?t care how long it takes. I?d rather be ultra careful with who we bring on so that we can maintain our business culture and the level of expertise we offer to our clients. Growing a business can be tricky. My biggest concern is that the level of performance or quality of services provided could suffer if we grow too fast, bring on the wrong people, or don?t train them effectively. Therefore, part of my mission now and going forward in 2016 is to further define and shape our unique approach to selling homes, and make that approach mandatory across the whole brokerage. We have a better way to sell homes, and we have a ton of evidence that backs that up. Most brokerages allow agents to run their business the way they see fit (good or bad). But at Front Street Brokers, all of us will hold each other to a much higher standard, so that all of us deliver the highest level of expertise and deliver to our clients a unique approach that they can trust will help them net the most money when they go to sell their home. and other secrets I've uncovered about our the real estate profession that I wish I knew when I started. Apparently I had a lot to say, because I'm nearly finished with a whole book on advice for Realtors. Should come out this spring. Writing has become a family staple in my household. I?ve just begun to test the waters of writing, but my wife has been aggressively pursuing a career in writing ever since we had kids. She has written more than 5 books, and 2 of them actually hit the New York Times Best Seller list in 2014! So yeah, she is super awesome, and I?m very proud of her. My wife Amanda writes under the name AK Turner, if you ever want to check out any of her books. She writes humor and has an honest, unfiltered wit that many of her fans enjoy. Her latest series is called Vagabonding with Kids. This series is a fun glimpse of our family and how we manage to travel abroad each year for extended periods of time while maintaining multiple businesses and careers with kids in tow. We work every day, so it?s much like a remote office, only in amazing locations. Check out Amanda?s article in this newsletter that discusses our upcoming trip to Brazil. We leave this December, and if you would like to follow along on our adventure to Brazil we will be broadcasting live (almost every day) through the free phone app called ?Periscope.? If you get the app or have it already, just search and follow ?AK Turner.? Below is a handful of photos from the Grand Opening Party and some recent photos of my family. I hope you and your family have an amazing holiday season. If you ever need anything, just email me anytime at [email protected]. In fact, I've been writing a lot lately about how we accomplish this, Family Fun GrandOpeninginEagl e
