Cesar Chavez

(1927-1993 )

Cesar Chavez is a Mexican American who started a group with Dolores Huerta called the National Farm Workers Association. He wanted to give the Mexican workers better quality pay and more benefits of working. He was most famous for taking the non- violence route and protested peacefully, like Martin Luther King. He is also famous for making the term “Si, se puede” more popular in his speeches to fight for the worker in California and Florida.

History reminds us that Civil Rights Movement would be nothing without the brave women and men who fought their way out for equal rights and liberties. These activists and leaders dedicated their lives to fight for civil rights of the people. They devoted their lives to end slavery, segregation, and unfair treatment to men and women. Angela Davis (1944-)

Angela Davis is an American political activist who came up to be the leader of the Communist party USA and had close relations with the Black Panther Party. The things she most tried to fight for is prisoner rights, and she also created the Critical Resistance, an organization working to abolish the prison-industrial complex. She worked to raise social consciousness about feminism and African-American issues.
