Who were the Black Panther Party?

The 10 Point Program.

• The 10 point program was desired goals that the BPP wanted to accomplish during the revolution against the U.S government. The goals included issue with health care, police brutality, better housing and many other.

I.Freedom and power to determine the destiny for black people and communities.

II. Full employment, job opportunities for everyone or promised income.

III. End robbery of the black communities.

IV. Decent housing fit to shelter human beings.

V. Good education opportunities, where classes teach about black history.

VI. Free healthcare.

VII. End police brutality and murder of black and other suppressed people.

VIII. End all wars of aggression.

IX. Freedom for all political prisoners, trials by jury of peers.

X. Land, bread, housing, education, clothing, justice, peace and community control of modern industry.

Founded by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale, The Black Panther Party was a militant self-defense of minority communities against the U.S government. They patrolled the black community and monitored officer’s behavior and challenged officials. The BPP used violence to gain a voice in their community and get the attention of the federal government. The Panther Party taught to establish revolutionary socialism through organizations and community based programs, calling themselves the “Vanguard of the Revolution”. The Party took a stand against brutality and social injustice of the black community. They were also involved improving the lives of the people in their neighborhoods. The Party organized programs that gave free meals, clothes, and medical assistance to poor children and people of the black community. The BPP served over 10,000 people every day.
