Lights out on Liberty represents the not-so liberated society we live in today. The lights out on the Statue of Liberty signifies the fact that Lady Liberty is no longer portraying her original purpose. Which is- welcoming immigrants without judgment, accepting change and indifference without hesitation, and standing as a structure and symbol of universal freedom and equality. Our magazine reflects America's many dark inequalities and issues of disenfranchisement in both the past and present.
