Baker High Torque Bearing Kit
Haslett , Michigan based Baker Drivetrain ' s high torque bearing kit is designed to eliminate lateral walking of the main shaft race , eliminate oil leaks and ease serviceability . This kit replaces the 34091-85 inner bearing race that was used on 1985- 2007 Big Twin applications . Bert Baker explains : " The 34091-85 inner bearing race has been used on Big Twins since 1985 . The inner primary bearing rides on this race . By design , this race is press-fit onto the transmission main shaft . This system works fine for stock engines . " But the stock inner bearing race becomes useless when you have over 100 + hp , because the strength of the engine will cause the race to walk . If it walks inboard , it will damage the main drive gear seal and cause a transmission oil leak . If it walks outboard , it will cause a primary oil leak . " Our high torque bearing kit eliminates this condition . The kit includes a precision-honed bearing and seal and is now included in our DD6 and OD6 kits ."
