It has acquired an 80 % majority stake in Denkendorf , Germany , gearbox technology specialist Pinion GmbH , and has taken 100 % ownership of the Shawinigan , Quebec operations of Kongsberg Inc ., " a leader in electronics and mechatronic components " and longstanding supplier of BRP . These follow BRP ' s acquisition from Chinese ownership of Great Wall Motor Austria GmbH ( EV R & D ). Other recent strategic plays have included confirmation of 2024 availability of a new line of Can-Am branded electric motorcycles and the opening of a European design studio on the Côte d ' Azur ( Nice work if you can get it !).
Cornelius , NC . based Huck Cycles has opened applications for dealers following the release of its updated 2022 electric PTW model line . Leading the charge is the Rebel , a retro-inspired street legal moped class bike that features a welded steel tube frame and hub drive motor . The 3,000 watt motor is powered by a 1,800 kwh lithium ion battery and a 150 amp controller . Range on a full charge is up to 50 miles and speeds as high as 40 mph . Brett McCoy , founder of Huck Cycles , said " we are proud of our Made in North Carolina tag line . All our frames , tanks ( battery covers ) and seats are manufactured within 50 miles of our facility ." Also new for 2022 , the Overland is an all- aluminum bolt together bike " designed for riders who want a little more dirt under their tires . Yamaha Motor Corp ., U . S . A ., canceled its planned Dealer Business Summit scheduled for Aug . 9-12 in Park City , Utah . Mike Martinez , President of Motorsports for Yamaha , is quoted as saying : " As most people must be aware , we are experiencing supply chain issues as a result of the Shanghai port lockdown . Many of our vendors are reporting late raw material shipments , manpower challenges and capacity issues , making it increasingly difficult to keep up with backlogged orders , not to mention current and future demand ."

The oldest AMD World Championship Affiliate event , and arguably the oldest custom bike show of them all , Twin Club MC of Norrtälje in Sweden was able to bring back its Custom Bike Show in June - for the first time since 2019 .
