Polaris owned US clothing manufacturer Klim has joined the motorcycle airbag market , specifically the airbag vest segment , with its Ai-1 airbag vest based on the market leading " Detect-Protect- Perfect " technology platform developed by French specialist In & motion . Lightweight ( 1.5kg ) and well ventilated , the tech is cunningly concealed in the back protector and fits under any motorcycle jacket . The Ai based tech detects dangerous situations by analysing 1,000 movements per second . The constantly evolving algorithm continuously processes data , and if it detects a crash , the airbag inflates in less than 60 milliseconds . Operation is via Bluetooth with an ( IOS or Android ) app .
German ADV parts , accessory and apparel specialist Touratech has opened a retail store and additional domestic U . S . distribution center in Brookfield , CT , just outside Danbury , a few miles from the New York border . Record Breaking 2022 DGR - 802 Cities , 104 Countries
On May 22 2022 , after two years of social distancing and solo riding , The Distinguished Gentleman ' s Ride ( DGR ) took place worldwide in its precovid format , " breaking all previous editions ' fundraising records ." Fundraising closed on June 5 with close to USD $ 6m , some 4 % more than the last pre-Covid edition in 2019 and a new record high of funds raised in support of prostate cancer research and men ' s mental health . This year saw an estimated 93,456 riders participating in 802 cities , spread across 104 countries - all " Dressed Dapper " and most riding classic , vintage , retro or ' Modern Classic ' motorcycles . Proving the power of group participation , the amount raised was 47 % higher than the 2021 ' virtual ' socially isolated iteration - itself a ' Good Effort ' under the challenging circumstances faced in the past two years . Since its first edition in 2012 , the event has brought together more than 400,000 riders - including tens of thousands Triumph owners - from 114 countries around the world and raised more than USD $ 37m for men ' s health . In 1969 Larry Goodman opened Carman Tool and Abrasives . " If you needed a special tool , he had it . Shops from all over the USA would go to Carman Tool . He always seemed to have the knack of introducing new product that was beneficial to many industries . " He was a salesman extraordinaire , and in the late 1980s , he met an entrepreneur named Gene Haas , who had CNC machines to sell . Larry ' s new company , ACT / Coleman represented the Haas Wheel CNC machines . Larry knew that this would be a machine every shop would want . " He offered to sell them , install them
