the entire school in an artistic way. You can answer the question “Who am I?” in any artistic expression; visual,
poetic, movement, anything that comes to mind. The top project will be able to share their work in the school’s art
showcase next week.
The class starts giggling and getting excited about the project. Paris raises her hand to ask a question
MS. KEATON: (CONT’D)
Yes, Paris.
PARIS
How long do our presentations have to be?
MS. KEATON
Just don’t let it go on for forever.
Another student, who happens to be Caucasian asks the same question.
CLASSMATE #4
I’m sorry Ms. Keaton can you please repeat that, how long does it have to be?
MS. KEATON
Just express yourself, dear
Paris quickly looks up from her notebook, visibly upset.
MS. KEATON: (CONT’D)
Does everyone understand the assignment?
THE ENTIRE CLASS
Yes Ms. Keaton!
MS. KEATON:
That’s what I like to hear.
The bell rings.
MS. KEATON: (CONT’D)
Okay kids. You know what that means, homeroom is over, it is time for 1st period class. Get in line. I can’t wait
to see what you guys will present tomorrow.
INT: INSIDE OF PARIS’ HOUSE. LATE AFTERNOON
At home Paris is in her room trying to figure out what she was going to do for her project. She tore up paper after
paper, nothing seemed right. Paris got up from her desk, looked in the mirror, stood up straight, put her fingers in
her hair and shook her ‘fro. She let out a cute laugh. She suddenly heard her mom and dad’s voice.
JOAN
You got this!
DAVID
