In a short span of 14 years, from
2003, when he started playing
serious Table Tennis in school, he
has won a host of medals and
trophies, locally and
internationally, including the
Sports Writers Association of
Ghana (SWAG) Best Table Tennis
Player of the Year Award (five
times).
His calm and poise when playing
as well as his unassuming
character are very deceptive, and
people marvel whenever he is
introduced. He is not muscular like
most sportsmen but is mentally
tough and extremely skillful.
The 25-year-old Ghana number
one Table Tennis Player said in this
exclusive interview that being
awarded the SWAG Awards for the
fifth time as the Best Table Tennis
Player in the country has only
spurred him further to achieve
greater heights.
Abrefa says his focus is to be
among the top players in the
world.
“Anytime I receive the award, it
tells me people are watching me,
people are seeing what I am doing
and appreciating me, I can go as
far as I allow myself to go,” he
expressed.
