Johnson were other important contributors for Zimbabwe on the world stage
at that time.
With the appearance of these quality players, a breakthrough was achieved in
levels of performance in the late 1990s and the Zimbabwean team began
winning Tests against other nations, which included a series win against
Pakistan.
Unfortunately, the political situation in Zimbabwe declined at around the
same time, which had a detrimental effect on the national team's
performances.
Believing in the future
Coach Heath Streak knows all too well the challenges Zimbabwe Cricket
faces, but believes the surprise return of experienced players and the
shedding of an underdog mentality has been behind the team’s more
competitive recent performances.
He has been leading the side since October 2016 and during the period has
engineered a return of the country’s top batsman Brendan Taylor and their
primary seamer, Kyle Jarvis, who had
