KOLO TOURE’S RETIREMENT Kolo Toure has had a wonderful career, winning with Arsenal as well as the FA Cup. His most memorable achievement until this February was being part of the invincibles of Arsenal who went a whole season without losing a single game. However, that has been overshadowed by winning AFCON with his home country, Ivory Coast, who finally shed their tag of perennial chokers at the African Cup of Nations. Toure, who appeared in 7 Cup of Nations, could not have wished for a better ending to his career. His decision to bow out while the ovation was still loudest is a sensible one. Over the years, his contribution to African football along with that of his brother Yaya will be remembered and celebrated. Kolo Toure can now concentrate on helping Liverpool win the FA Cup and retain their place in the European Champions League next season.
