De Kock has achieved more things in cricket by
the age of 22 than many of his peers have
achieved in their entire careers. In 2013, he
enjoyed a record- breaking ODI series against
India in which he became the fifth player to score
three successive centuries in this format and the
second player to score four ODI centuries before
his 21st birthday . He is also the fastest
wicketkeeper to 50 one-day dismissals, passing
the landmark in his 27th game.

Identified as one for the future at a young age, it
came as no surprise when he made his Test
debut against Australia in 2008 and contributed
towards a historic series win. He made his ODI
debut as a 20- year- old under difficult
circumstances in Sri Lanka in 2004 and it was
only three years later that he was able to
establish himself as a regular for the Proteas . He
has also developed into a useful off - spinner.
Faf du Plessis

He forced his way into the Proteas ODI line - up
during the 2010 -11 season through sheer weight
of runs when he hit three centuries and made
more than 500 runs in the domestic limited -over
competition. He carried this form into his debut
ODI against India with a half -century. His
leadership skills were acknowledged when he
was made captain of the T 20 squad in 2012 . He
has also stood in for AB de Villiers as captain of
the ODI squad.
