Overall, it is a good opportunity to be involved with, as it
allows me to both inform the wider world about the
qualities of the game in Africa, whilst at the same time
keep me up to date with the various developments in the
African game whilst I look to finalize my next Head
Coaching role, which hopefully should be sooner rather
than later.

ASM: You definitely have great insight into the
world of African sports and especially African
football. What can you tell other coaches (foreign
and indigenous) who have never had the
opportunity to lead an African team but are curious
to try it out.
Johnny: Ultimately football is the same game the world
over. We are all trying to dribble, pass, score and
ultimately win. As a coach, the players at your disposal
in various parts of Africa can be immensely talented.
However it is important to remember that this varies
from region to region – Africa is a big continent….
sometimes people on the outside forget that and think
everyone in Africa is the same, which is definitely not the
case.
