Kelechi Iheanacho

In November 2013 Kelechi Iheanacho of Nigeria made the soccer world sit up and notice his dazzling skills as he led the young Under 17 Nigerian team to victory and a world cup in the United Arab Emirates.

Iheanacho with six goals just short of the golden boots prize was however the Golden Ball winner (best player) of the FIFA U-17 World Cup. His superb skills and dazzling play has earned him a place with Manchester City in the English Premier League who just signed him to a contract. Look for Kelechi Iheanacho to entertain soccer lovers for many years to come.

Victor Oladipo

He stands at 6 feet 4 inches tall. Victor Oladipo is a Shooting Guard for the Orlando Magic in the NBA. Born to a Nigerian Mother and a Sierra Leonean Father he is one of the rising stars of the NBA and we here at African Sports Monthly recognize the potential and upside of this great athlete. Drafted in the first round by the Orlando Magic in last year’s 2013 draft Oladipo has been making waves in the NBA since entry. He averages 13.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in his career thus far and according to basketball experts we have only seen the tip of the iceberg for this very talented Shooting Guard.

Ebenezer Assifuah

At the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Turkey, Ghana’s Ebenezer Assifuah came of age, blossoming right under the eyes of soccer fans around the world and dazzled everyone with six goals which earned him the Golden Boots award for the tournament. The 20 year old Ghanaian who has been dubbed the next Samuel Eto’o now plays for Swiss Super League club FC Sion. He is a forward with an extremely bright future. Look for Assifuah to put on the Senior Black Stars colors for Ghana in the very near future.
