AFCON Champions

The 2013 African Cup of nations in South Africa like its predecessor the
2012 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea/Gabon proved to be tournaments of
surprises in crowning underdogs as African Champions.
With the Super Eagles of Nigeria barely eking out a victory against
Guinea during the AFCON qualifiers on their road to South Africa, most
football watchers across the continent and beyond barely gave them a
chance to advance beyond the Quarter-Finals stage of the 29th Edition of
the African Cup of Nations in South Africa. But like their predecessors,
the Chipopolo Boys of Zambia who surprised everyone in Equatorial
Guinea/Gabon in 2012 and went on to beat favorites Ghana and the Ivory
