Award winning dump truck MK-42 : GHH ´ s premier design is less about a fancy paint job , and more about well thought-out construction details that contribute to the machine ´ s productivity and safety .

In a recent design competition , the manufacturer of mining and tunnelling vehicles , GHH has been awarded for its MK-42 dump truck , a 42-tonne dump truck for underground mining and tunnelling applications .

The MK-42 dump truck from GHH has been well received in the market . Design prizes such as the Red Dot and , most recently , the Good Design Award show that even aesthetes are impressed .

The award from Good Design Australia came as a surprise to the German machine manufacturer . The MK-42 had taken part in their competition for 2021 . Australia is one of the most important

The international jury reviewed 933 projects this year , and commented , “ GHH creates excitement with a sleeker and more sophisticated look than we ' re used to seeing in this category . The operator compartment is comfortable and ergonomically designed and there are a number of excellent safety features ( multiple fire extinguishers , low slip surfaces and strong LED lighting ). The fact that it also has best in class power , turning radius and tipping angle indicates a clear focus on designing a product that sets new class standards . Overall , this is a really impressive example of design and engineering and a standout project .”

GHH presented the MK-42 a year ago . The prime dump truck in the manufacturer ’ s product range carries 45 tonnes of payload with a volume of up to 24m3 . The economic aim during development was high productivity paired with low operating costs , said GHH . Indeed , if you put a lot of effort into it , you almost inevitably create a result that exudes recognisable competence . A clear design has become kind of a trademark for GHH – everything is exactly where you can find it immediately , even in the harsh and hectic daily routine .

India ' s largest zinc producer HZL recently also honoured this high level of customer orientation with the " Best Performing Business Award .” •
