PROJECTS AND EXPLORATION  SANBRADO DRILLING CONTINUES • Location: Burkina Faso • Phase: Exploration • Mineral: Gold G According to managing director of West African Resources, Richard Hyde, initial drill holes from the maiden grade control program at M1 South have returned high-grade results including 27m at 8.7grams per tonne (gpt) of gold (Au), confirming Sanbrado will process high-grade free milling ore early in the production schedule. “Drilling continues and will de-risk the first five months of production from the high grade M1 South open-pit,” says Hyde. “We are fully funded, with construction progressing on time and budget. Commercial gold production is on track for the second half of 2020.”  West old developer West African Resources has reported assay results from the maiden grade control (GC) reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme from its M1 South deposit at the Sanbrado gold project in Burkina Faso. GC holes drilled to date at M1 South have targeted early production ore from near surface mineralisation within the M1 South open pit. ENDEAVOUR’S 7 NEW TARGETS • Location: Côte d’Ivoire • Phase: Exploration • Mineral: Gold C anadian company Endeavour Mining has added a significant high-grade resource at its flagship Ity mine in Côte d’Ivoire. The company defined seven new targets at its Le Plaque discovery, which boosts confidence in delineating further resources. According to Patrick Bouisset, executive vice-president exploration and growth at Endeavour, the company’s results www. africanmining.co.za African Mining Publication to date has been outstanding in terms of the high-grade nature and mineralisation extension. “We are excited by the potential in the Le Plaque area which remains open at depth and in several directions. Before year end, we expect to further increase its resource base and define a maiden reserve. In addition, we are extremely pleased with our ongoing reconnaissance drilling campaign as it has identified seven new targets which leaves us very well positioned to continue delineating further maiden resources in the large northern Floleu license anomalic area,” says Bouisset. More broadly, the success we have achieved, notably at Houndé, Ity and Fetekro, just two and half years since the implementation of our five year strategic exploration plan in late 2016, demonstrates that we continue to add value while remaining on track to reach our ambitious discovery cost target of less than USD20 per ounce,” he adds.  African Mining African Mining  October 2019  7
