By Sharyn Macnamara
The groundbreaking first trimester for the mining and power industries in Africa has been truly extraordinary , per MTE – in its thirtieth year of business – with its ear constantly to the ground and its finger on the pulse .
‘ Start as you mean to finish ’ “ We have experienced the best start to a year since 2019 and we are striking while the iron is hot ,” says Andrew Macnamara , operations director for the travelling exhibitions company , Mining and Technical Exhibitions ( MTE ). The ‘ 3Ds – Decarbonisation , Decentralisation and Digitalisation ’ are creating a new reality , with evolution and adaptation being key , while inflationary pressures drive operations to greater efficiencies at reduced cost .
The first MTE expo of the year – the Cullinan Mining & Industrial Exhibition – took place on 2 February covering the needs of and innovations in the diamond industry . With a 30 % increase in visitors , exhibitor expectations were exceeded . More than half of the visitors
