Projects FEED WORK BEGINS AT ACHMMACH Location: Morocco Phase: Development Resource: Tin Kasbah Resources appointed Ausenco to do front-end engineering design (FEED) work for the Achmmach tin project in Morocco. The location of the Achmmach tin project in Morocco. Between November 2018 and February 2019, Ausenco will commence with the work, intending to enhance and improve the design and efficiencies in the processing plant. As a result, risk will be reduced, targeting an improved EPC tender price for the construction of the processing plant. and optimisation of construction strategies. “We are confident that the FEED will provide benefits to the project by improving the deliverables and potentially reducing the cost of the build and minimising the execution risk of construction,” commented Russell Clark, Kasbah CEO. Included in the scope of the FEED is optimising the process plant layout and design; reducing the overall project costs through efficient design and effective sourcing of materials; and reducing the project schedule through effective planning Ausenco will undertake the work with the aim of enhancing and improving the design and efficiencies in the processing plant, thereby reducing risk and targeting an improved engineering EPC tender price for the construction of the processing plant. Results from the definitive feasibility study confirmed Achmmach as a world-class development-ready tin project. Kasbah is now focusing on securing project financing, offtake partners, a mining contractor, and an engineering procurement construction (EPC) contractor to build the project. YAOURÉ COMPLETES SCOPING STUDY Location: Côte d’Ivoire Phase: Scoping Resource: Gold The purpose of the study was to investigate the technical and economic viability of underground mining methods for extraction of the CMA lode and to identify the requirements to convert the potential underground target to an indicated mineral resource and ore reserve via a subsequent prefeasibility study (PFS). Included in the study was a reinterpretation of the mineralised structures both within and below the open pit to obtain a clear understanding of the distribution and continuity of high-grade mineralisation suitable for mining by underground methods. www.africanmining.co.za A scoping study has been completed for Perseus Mining’s Yaouré gold project in Côte d'Ivoire. The study was initiated in the first half of 2018. Scoping study mine access to the CMA footwall lode from the open pit. No significant geotechnical concerns were identified in the scoping study. Support requirements for the portal areas and for all development were estimated in the study. Stability analysis was carried out to determine stable stoping spans and extraction ratios based on development largely being on the ore body and employing a room and pillar mining method. Allowances for local underground water management, transfer to the open pit, and pumping to surface were also included in the scoping study. JANUARY - FEBRUARY 2019 AFRICAN MINING 9
