The QA452e features Sandvik’ s patented doublescreen technology for high throughput and efficiency. It is a revolutionary design that utilises two high-velocity screen boxes that work independently of each other; the primary screen works as a fines extractor, while the secondary screen operates as a grader.
“ Doublescreen advantages over competing products include greater material control, greater adjustability, increased accuracy and higher screening efficiencies, making this unit ideal for producing massive volumes of high-specification products, without compromising on productivity,” says Smith.
The patented doublescreen design features three independent 20’ x 5’( 6m x 1.5m) screens, each providing a screening area of 9m ³/ 9.3m ², with the bottom deck being 11 % longer for more screen area and fines extraction. Compared to conventional 20’ x 5’ screen boxes, the doublescreen technology typically outperforms traditional screens by up to 30 %. It also allows up to 42 screen angle options due to the two screen boxes.
“ The arrival of the first Sandvik dual-powered machine marks a significant step towards a more sustainable and cost-effective future for the local mobile crushing and screening industry,” adds Kruger.

EGYPT TO LAUNCH DIGITAL MINING PORTAL
Yasser Ramadan, chairperson of the Egyptian Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority.
Yasser Ramadan, chairperson of the Egyptian Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority announced on 1 October 2025 that they will be launching a digital portal during the African Mining Week conference.
Egypt is developing a digital portal, to give global investors access to geological data and new opportunities in the country’ s mining sector, with the initiative set to launch this month.
During the conference, Ramadan also outlined six key reasons why Egypt stands out as an attractive destination for mining investment.
Egypt has a strong geology, hosting significant deposits of phosphate gold, silver, cobalt and zinc, he noted, adding that the strategic location of Egypt – linking Africa, Asia and Europe – presents an opportunity for mining stakeholders to access international markets.
“ Logistics-wise, Egypt is a good zone,” stated Ramadan.
Egypt’ s well-established infrastructure, including more than 180 000km of roads and numerous ports, provides a foundation for mining operations.
Ramadan further pointed to fiscal reforms, citing the new model agreement structure adopted in 2018 that offers competitive investment terms and supports local content development.
“ The regulatory fees are being reviewed to align with globally attractive standards. We already have incentive packages and we will launch a new licensing round that allows investors to explore various minerals under a single licence, with exemptions in several taxes,” he explained.
Another strength, he said, lies in Egypt’ s stable political and business environment, underpinned by a strong focus on people.
“ About 97 % of the mining sector workforce are Egyptians,” Ramadan noted, underscoring the government’ s emphasis on local employment. •
