When asked what advice she would give a woman entering the business , Ledwaba says that women often suffer from self doubt and she would tell a new employee , “ You are often stronger than you think . Step up , take the opportunities the industry offers – do not allow self doubt to deter you from taking chances . Do not go to bed at night without learning something new , each day . The world is constantly evolving , and if you do not evolve with it , you will be left behind .”
What struck me at the end of our conversation was that Ledwaba ’ s positive message of seeking out new opportunities for growth , development of talent and constant evolution – both on a personal and company level was perfectly aligned with the Weir Africa message at Electra Mining Africa 2024 – “ Your TOMORROW , drives us today .” •
