GROWTH THROUGH COLLABORATIVE INNOVATION, TO COUNTER GEOPOLITICAL RISK
INTRODUCTION
As we bid adieu to 2025, mining in Africa looks to new possibilities in 2026 with the global green mining market forecast to be valued at USD17.6-billion by 2027. 1 To take advantage of the opportunities the new year delivers,“ collaboration” at its best is the focus for industry. Resilience equates to innovating together to stem the tide of geopolitical impact. For Africa, this means that leadership( from governments, to communities, to mining stakeholders), risk taking investors and smart innovators( mining majors, juniors, expert consultants and tech suppliers to the industry) must work together to unlock untapped growth opportunities across the continent’ s industrial and mining value chains to fast-track downstream industrialisation and beneficiation to survive sustainably.
Mining has proven that it is the backbone of African economies with its untapped wealth and resources in demand to sustain the world for survival of the human race. Green mining involves technologies and best practices and procedures implemented by mining companies to make the sector safer and more energy efficient, and to reduce the environmental impact related to the extraction and processing of metals and minerals – making mining sustainable for posterity. The focus therefore across the value chain is on minerals critical to the energy transition and sustainable economies, skills development and power reducing smart tech, operational fuel and maintenance reduction, emissions reduction, water stewardship and sustainable mine closure, among others.
Within this context we are proud to share the 2026 edition of our African Mining Suppliers Directory which offers the African continent an invaluable resource when in search of solutions for industrial operations in Africa. We have invited the suppliers of well-known, tried-and-tested solutions to industry; innovators offering disruptive smart technologies and green-energy solutions; downstream buyer stakeholders in the sector absorbing minerals and metals; and consultants to the industry of good governance, regulation and policy among so many other players in Africa’ s industrial sphere to share their contact details in this hybrid annual publication – in the hope that it continues to serve our readers well in their quest for greater industrial efficiencies.
After another year of progress in both regional and local industry, despite geopolitical impact and local infrastructure challenges( with major improvements), in closing African Mining, incorporating Mining Mirror looks forward to covering industry events in 2026 that open up the lines of communication and networks to unlock the collaboration

These include, among others, the Investing in African Mining Indaba( MI26 run by Hyve), Electra Mining Africa( EMA run by Montgomery Group Africa) and the debate at Resources for Africa events like the London, Joburg and Junior Indabas, remembering those events that talk to immediate technology solutions for the basic boots on the ground daily running of operations in SADC – housed within our very own Mining and Technical Exhibitions( MTE).
We thank our readers, our contributors, industry stakeholders, exhibitors and advertisers for their continued support throughout 2025, and we look forward to sharing a prosperous and happy 2026 with you all.
