 PROJECTS AND EXPLORATION EXPLORATION PHASE 2 mineralisation and the lithological units in which it is contained. A controlled and modular programme will enable us to test hypotheses and step up activity quickly if justified,” Bell adds. • Location: DRC   • Phase: Exploration AHAFO EXPANDS • Resource: Copper/cobalt London-listed Red Rock Resources will undertake a second phase of exploration drilling at its licensed area in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), 65km South East of Lubumbashi close to the Zambian border. • Location: Ghana • Phase: Production • Resource: Gold An initial exploration programme of which the results were announced in December 2018, identified two open-ended areas strongly anomalous for copper and cobalt. Based on these results, Mineral Exploration Associates SARL Consultants (Minex Consulting) has recommended a second phase of exploration. Stefanutti Stocks Ghana, a subsidiary of Stefanutti Stocks, has successfully completed a major plant expansion project for mining client Newmont Gold Ghana. The project achieved commercial production on schedule and within budget in October 2019. Ahafo mine, located in the Brong-Ahafo region of central Ghana, is one of the largest gold mines in Ghana. The project objective was to execute the Ahafo Mill Expansion (AME), to increase mill throughput and production, while lowering life-of-mine processing costs, as the mine transitions to a harder, lower grade ore resource. According to Red Rock chairman, Andrew Bell, follow-up trenching will be undertaken between pits where mineralisation is encountered or further lithostratigraphical information can be obtained. Bell says that geophysics will be undertaken over the north-west sector west, to be followed by pitting in area Bonce geophysical results have been interpreted. "We obtained very promising results from the initial exploration in a favourable geological setting, suggesting the presence of copper and cobalt mineralisation at depth,” says Bell. “In total, we erected 1 200t of structural steel work; and installed approximately 2 500t of mechanicals and 950t of platework,” says Neels Uys, project manager, Stefanutti Stocks Ghana. He adds that the key benefit of the mill expansion “As the wet season ends, we want to take the opportunity to follow up these earlier results and find out more about the 18 - 20 AUGUST GALLAGHER CONVENTION CENTRE Africa’s largest occupational health and safety show turns 10 years old!
