It is beyond question that sport hunting, with its low throughput, high value clients and minimal impact on the environment, is by far the most effective means of sustainable utilisation of Flora and Fauna in the long term. Simply put, in order for non-consumptive tourists to generate the equivalent income of say one buffalo/plains game hunt (12 days), typically using one vehicle, a professional hunter, tracker and skinner, something like seven birding or photographic enthusiasts would have to be entertained for the same 12 day period.
