Foreword A Guide to NYATI - The Art of Hunting the African Buffalo, is the absolute definitive work on every aspect of hunting the African buffalo, and my sincerest congratulations go to the editorial African Hunter team at Mag-Set Publications: Anthony Williams, Don Heath and Andy Fenwick, for their dedication in its compilation, which can only have been a mammoth task. Anthony Williams, Mag-set’s editor-in-chief, made the comment when he asked me to write this foreword that he would like to portray the book as being produced firstly by Africans, and secondly by the team at Mag-Set. He remarked too that having debated whether to put the team’s names on the cover it was decided it would be preferable to acknowledge that it has very much been a team effort with lots of overlap in all the main sectors – writing, editing and final lay-out, and that like the magazine, it is written by hunters... for hunters. Although the articles on shot placement are mostly Don’s work, the Mag-Set team has individually written little of the rest of the text, it having been drawn mostly from almost a decade of publishing the African Hunter magazine, and includes editorial from such notable experts as Ira Larivers, Ian Nyschens, Charlie Haley, Ganyana, Cam Greig, Terry Blauwkamp and Don and Anthony themselves. Many other contributions have been made, not all of them acknowledged by name, and many other bush and hunting oriented people have looked at the text and given their views and ideas, that have also been incorporated. It must be said that the success of such a comprehensive guide lies in the many and varied people who have contributed, whose experiences have never before been pooled into a single published work.
