Introduction
A
frica’s forefathers were people of great courage, fortitude
and endurance. Their exploits as hunters and adventurers,
the likes of which we can only dream of, spawned a pursuit
that hunters the world over emulate today. Theirs was not a world of
second chances, a place where care and comfort were only a stone’s
throw away, but rather a world where nature was severely unforgiving
of mistakes, often imposing the maximum penalty of death on the
careless or unfortunate.
The exploits of some of those lucky enough to survive the harsh
African continent and record their adventures, sparked the modern
adventure known as Safari. They chronicled Africa’s cultures, travels,
adventures and discoveries. They told of plenty, wanton destruction,
great cunning and dire adversity. Africa with its myriad peoples black, white, native and immigrant- is rich in folklore and where this
was recorded, serves as a reminder of a land unlike any other.
Modern Africa remains savage, and can still be lethal to the
careless. Today it is well documented by those who answer to her
allure, as well as professionals whose livelihood is hunting. For
almost two decades, the African Hunter Magazine has been at the
forefront, telling the stories of old and new, entertaining readers and
feeding the passion when those from far away shores must return
their worlds.
This series of books is compiled from the many hundreds of
thousands of words penned by all manner of hunters, from visiting
sportsmen, to professionals and even those icons whose worlds bridge
the old and new. They are presen ????????????????????????????)?????????????????????????????????????????????????????)????????????????????????????????????????????????????????)??????????????????????????????????????????Q???????????)???????????????????????????????????
