Oracle offices – Ghana
SOURCE8 & THE OFFICE FURNITURE COMPANY
SHARE THEIR VIEWS:
Source8
Source8 was commissioned to deliver Oracle’s roll-out of new offices across MEA and
was engaged at the beginning of concept design by Oracle’s London-based Architect.
Detailed design was produced by local architects, Orthner Orthner & Associates, with
Source8 responsible for managing this process through to tender and delivery of a
complete operational office.
Source8 Risk Management team carried out Enhanced Due Diligence on proposed
guarantee and security providers to minimize risk to Oracle when contracting with
unknown parties in Ghana. As part of this due diligence process, Source8 ensured
advanced payment guarantees and performance securities were raised by reputable
companies in order to adhere to Oracle’s strict procurement guidelines. Source8
completed full tender for construction works, with all audit procedures completed and
satisfied by Oracle Legal team.
Challenges faced during this engagement included a tight timescale working with
multiple stakeholders across different continents as well as ensuring efficient navigation
of complicated customs processes. Source8 was able to provide a consistent and timely
rollout programme across all sites, despite difficulty sourcing preferred materials as well
as long lead times.
Source8 leveraged its Ghana-based Project Manager and extensive track-record in
the region to ensure areas of improvement and inconsistencies in the Client-led IT
proposals, capturing amendments before procurement without delaying the project.
We were able to utilize our contacts across the region in order to benchmark our costs
during the tender process, helping to achieve supreme value for money for Oracle.
The Office Furniture Company
The Office Furniture Company is the sole authorized representative and dealer for some
of the top ranking suppliers around the world of office furniture and modular carpet
flooring system.
TOFC and Steelcase provided furniture and office systems to reflect the new era of
workers and modern office trends. Their innovative breakthrough on how formal and
informal collaborative spaces work together to increase productivity was not far-fetched
from the ideologies of Oracle as a world-known brand.
The new set-up in Ghana was the opportunity to bring into play the concepts that lie
at the hearts of these companies. The office environment was created incorporating
modern ergonomics of the workplace ranging from reception, waiting areas, open
spaces, conference rooms, and workstation areas where employees are encouraged to
collaborate, share knowledge and ideas and yield solutions to everyday organizational
problems.
