World Architecture Day 2015
The International Union of Architects (UIA), representing the world’s
1.3 million architects, has announced the theme of World Architecture
Day (held on October 5 this year): Architecture, Building, Climate.
As the world’s national governments approach COP 21, the international
climate treaty negotiations due to take place later this year, the UIA will
join with national and regional architecture organisations to highlight
the essential role of architecture, design and town planning in reducing
associated greenhouse gas emissions.

UIA members, working bodies and partners will mobilize on October
5 to promote actions and solutions that apply the enormous power
of architecture and urban design in coping with global climate change, one of the greatest
challenges of our time. Exciting times for design professionals.
It is also an exciting time for African Design Magazine as we celebrate one year of publishing
with this issue. We have continued to grow with the passing of each issue, tailoring our
offering to our readers from Africa and the rest of the world and expanding our social reach
globally. We thank you for joining us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google
+ and we look forward to engaging and sharing outstanding African architecture and design
with our audience across our many platforms for a long time. #AfricanDesign AD
