upon by the parking and basketball court of the adjacent
Thusong Sports Centre. Extensive negotiations were required
to have these relocated back within their own boundary.
The site is in close proximity to a major train station and taxi
rank, which are the main modes of transport to the site. With
easy access to public transport the new building has already
created a vibrant quality to the environment. Although a
30m wide ‘transit corridor’ is planned to run along the entire
western boundary of the site, this is yet to be constructed.
Although the building has generated a new dynamic within
the area, the undeveloped infrastructure has compromised the
building which currently butts up onto a ‘sandpit’ (instead of a
