FEATURE Green Walls The outdoor visitors’ parking area at Rosebank Corner, owned by Redefine Properties, was originally flanked on one side by a plain slate tiled wall. The wall has been converted into attractive vertical panels of vegetation interspersed with columns of black glossy tiles and vertical LED strip lights. The design of this tastefully embellished wall was done by Black Sheep Design in conjunction with Oscar Lockwood of Life Landscapes. Life was the landscape contractor responsible for the installation of the Gro-Wall Vertical Garden System supplied by Pula Water Systems, containing an interesting variety of plants – some flowering, and some with delightful foliage textures. The project won a Gold Award for Specialised Landscape Construction for Life Landscapes at the 2017 South African Landscapers Institute (SALI) Awards of Excellence. Photographs by Carol Knoll
