SALI (South African Landscapers Institute) offers its principal members
the opportunity to enter completed projects in a national awards of
excellence programme. This provides its members with the opportunity
to showcase their skills, workmanship and professionalism to their peers,
clients, competitors, suppliers and the green industry as a whole.
This year a total of 144 projects were entered within the following categories:
• Landscape Construction with design by others: 32 entries
• Landscape Construction with In-house Design: 29 entries
• Specialised Turf Construction: 10 entries
• Specialised Landscape Construction: 15 entries
• Environmental Landscape: 4 entries
• Water wise: 8 entries
Judging is done at two levels. The first level is done on a regional basis with teams of
judges visiting all the projects entered. The national judge then visits chosen projects
in each region and assesses the projects to make the final decision about the national
