“My name is Wachira Macharia and I am a
28-year-old, registered architect in Kenya and
a hobby photographer. I am born and bred in
Nairobi and am married with one son. I am an
artist in many ways; painter, creator, drummer and
guitarist for Halua the band, photographer and all
round weird personality.”

Architecture:
“I am an award winning registered architect (East
African Institute of Architects: best in Kenya, best
in East Africa) having graduated from JKUAT in
2012. I have been working with Triad Architects
since then.”
Photography:
“I got my first camera in January 2013. I enjoy
capturing moments and moods through the
lenses. My current passions are wedding, abstract
and architectural photography. For the ‘Beauty in
the Mundane’ series, I used a Nikon D7100 with a
50mm lens. I set out to find beauty, patterns and
textures inherent in any construction site and
somehow make interesting images.” AD
