This enables us to reach clients in different parts of the country . Solid Insight is a live energy monitoring software platform we developed with a few other partners . This platform allows us to link to any database or smart meter and create energy and water benchmarks for individual buildings and portfolios . We are looking at this to be something that will revolutionise energy and water management markets . Finally , there is a real need for further education on sustainability matters within the building sector . Greened is an educational platform that we have launched that aims to provide online training in all matters regarding sustainability for people in the building environment or anyone interested in sustainability .

What exactly is green building certification and why is it a must for developers ?
Marloes : Green building certification is a third party certification of the environmental performance of buildings . In South Africa we mostly use Green Star which is administered by the GBCSA and EDGE ( Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies ). Building certifications allow developers to benchmark their buildings against various environmental criteria ; this makes it easier for prospective tenants to understand what kind of environmental performance they obtain .
