The completed development
will include a nature walk/
running track around the
extent of the site, with an
outdoor gym and relaxation
spaces, as well as a Central
Park area with landscaped
tiered gardens.
The initial concept of the
landscaping was undertaken
by African Environmental
Design while the evolution
of the brief and planting was
performed by The Gardeners.
The brief developed by the
company was to have a
species selection that is as
far as possible endemic to
the area, with concurrent
consideration of indigenous
plant species. The variety
of creepers specified by
Timothy Conradie from
The Gardeners takes
the seasonal cycles into
consideration and provides
for fluctuating landscaped
facades throughout the year.
“We are trying to foster a
natural environment that
requires minimal irrigation
and low maintenance, while
increasing the biodiversity
of both fauna and flora,” says
Boer.
