KNIGHTSBRIDGE The completed development will include a nature walk/ running track around the extent of the site, with an outdoor gym and relaxation spaces, as well as a Central Park area with landscaped tiered gardens. The initial concept of the landscaping was undertaken by African Environmental Design while the evolution of the brief and planting was performed by The Gardeners. The brief developed by the company was to have a species selection that is as far as possible endemic to the area, with concurrent consideration of indigenous plant species. The variety of creepers specified by Timothy Conradie from The Gardeners takes the seasonal cycles into consideration and provides for fluctuating landscaped facades throughout the year. “We are trying to foster a natural environment that requires minimal irrigation and low maintenance, while increasing the biodiversity of both fauna and flora,” says Boer.
