M E S S A G E F R O M T H E F O U N D E R The African Continental Free Trade Area (# AfCFTA )
Africa is talking cross-border business and trade through the new AfCFTA agreement and trade area . These is a great move , an initiative of African Union members to show commitment to AU-Agenda 2063 . There is a lot to unravel in AfCFTA as every country is working on framework , structures , policy and implementation of AfCFTA for their country benefit to boost economic growth through the movement of goods , services and people across countries . AfCFTA will work for Africans if all hands are on deck to play their leadership roles and share responsibilities ;
· All countries must have open border trade policy to allow ease of movement of goods and people .
· Visa openness for all Africans to move from one country to another with ease to do business .
· Lot of public / private educational awareness and advocacy of AfCFTA at the grassroots level , small businesses , women and youth is needed .
· Use of technology tools and innovation to streamline trade bureaucracy , delay and redundancy .
· Provision of infrastructure , grant and funds to support SME ’ s , women and youth innovations .
· And much more .
AfCFTA is here to stay and it going to put Africa on the global map of trade destination , gateway to Africa trade , human capital , Africa resources , people ’ s entrepreneurial ingenuity and innovation . AfCFTA will definitely change Africa narrative as a continent transforming it natural resources and human capital to cross-border export and import to change countries economy statues and people ’ s standard of living .
