NOTES
Dawn of a new Africa!
This is not a new chant for Africa. We have been singing
this tune for at least 2 centuries now. In the 20th century,
this chant and the restlessness it generated brought
about the liberation of many African countries from
colonialism to the independence we enjoy now. What will
be the legacy of this generation? What do we want this
new Africa to look like?
- We want to see a truly independent Africa. One which

does not rely on foreign aid for such projects as the
ECOWAS headquarters
- We want an Africa where every African can have
access to basic rights such as good education and
healthcare
- Most importantly, we want to be involved in the
realization of this 'New Africa dream'.

We can no longer leave our destiny in the hands of other
people, while we sit back to complain or murmur. Each of
us, in our own space, can make a positive contribution to
this new Africa.
This issue seeks to highlight a few of the ways in which
Africa is rising by itself. Hope you will be inspired to be an
African change maker too. Enjoy!
