Race week has arrived and we are excited to host you at the 2024 African Bank Soweto Marathon . With less than a week until race day , we are in the final preparations for your arrival at race registration and the African Bank Soweto Marathon Expo . To provide you with a seamless registration and race day experience , we would like to ensure that you take note of the important information below .
temporary ASA license on the back of your running vest / shirt . These temporary licenses will be on sale at the race number collection if you did not order one with your entry . Please note we will not be accepting cash , card payments only .
If you do own a valid 2024 ASA License both licenses must be worn - one on the front & one on the back of your running vest / shirt . Your issued official race number must be worn on the front of your vest however it must not cover the sponsor of your ASA license .

Foreign athletes are not allowed to run with an ASA Provincial license , and are required to run with a temporary license otherwise they face disqualification . ( Refer to IAAF rule 4 .) All African and International entries ( ROW ) include a temporary license and will be included in your race pack .

SUBSTITUTIONS , UPGRADES AND DOWNGRADES
These will be handled at race number collection as follows :
Substitutions - you will require a written letter from the owner of the entry plus a copy of this confirmation & their ID document stipulating and agreeing to the substitution . A hard copy of this letter must be produced as it will be kept on file and no electronic copies will be accepted . The complimentary event shirt and size will transfer to the new entrant and no shirt size changes will be allowed . The fee for substitution is R100 plus any entrance fee differential and only card payments will be accepted .
Upgrades - please collect your race number and then proceed to the Race Office Enquiries Desk . The fee for upgrades is R50 plus the entrance fee differential and only card payments will be accepted . No refunds will be processed .
Downgrades - please collect your race number and then proceed to the Race Office Enquiries Desk . No refunds will be processed .
If you complete a different distance to what you are entered into you will not receive an official time and times will not be altered or inserted .
In terms of IAAF and ASA rules , any person running with another runner ’ s number and / or chip will be disqualified and may be subject to further disciplinary action .

• Thursday , 31st October 2024 : 09h00 to 20h00
• Friday , 1st November 2024 : 09h00 to 20h00
• Saturday , 2nd November 2024 : 08h30 to 18h00
• No bulk collections will be allowed .
• NO COLLECTION POSSIBLE ON RACE DAY !
Please Note , that on Saturday 2nd November 2024 there is a soccer match at the FNB Stadium , between Chiefs and Sundowns so please plan your race collection carefully as there will be traffic congestion .
