Before joining HSBC , Okoro was Global General Counsel at Barings . She has also been appointed to the Management Board and Panel of Experts of The Hague-based Panel of Recognized International Market Experts in Finance , which assists with the settlement of international disputes of complex financial transactions . Okoro played a leadership role during the financial crisis particularly in respect to the mitigation of counterparty risk exposure .
Okoro has received several accolades for her work and volunteer efforts . Most recently , in July 2016 , she was named as one of the 100 Women to Watch by the Female FTSE Board .
As World Bank Group Senior Vice President and General Counsel , Okoro will be the principal adviser and spokesperson on all legal matters . She will also serve as the legal adviser to the Board , management , the Inspection Panel , and the CEO of the Global Environmental Facility Program . Okoro will lead the World Bank ’ s Legal Vice Presidency , which is responsible for all legal services provided to internal and external clients .

Rianna Gonzales environmental awareness and youth empowerment . She is a young citizen of the Caribbean , hailing from the islands of Trinidad and Tobago . She has her first degree in Environmental and Natural Resources Management and is currently pursuing a Master ’ s degree in Coastal Engineering and Management . Professionally she is a Senior Water Planning Officer at the Water Resources Agency of the Water and Sewerage Authority ( WASA ) in her country . She has shown exceptional initiative and dedication in the area of water management and environmental consciousness . One of her most notable achievements has been the championing of the international best practice of Integrated Water Resources Management ( IWRM ) in Trinidad and Tobago for the past seven ( 7 ) years which has now become a priority initiative under government policy .
Outside of her professional duties she has been an active advocate for youth empowerment through education and lobbying for over the past nine ( 9 ) years with the Caribbean Youth Environment Network ( CYEN ), a regional youth led organization , and is currently the National Coordinator of the Trinidad and Tobago Chapter .

Annual NWRI Clarke Prize Lecture . The Award Ceremony held in Newport Beach , California . He received the award from James Irvine Swinden and Morton Irvine Smith , grandsons of NWRI ’ s co-founder , the late Athalie Richardson Irvine Clarke . The award ceremony preceded the annual NWRI Clarke Prize Conference on Urban Water Sustainability , featuring a mix of leading-edge research by academics complimented with practical case studies by industry practitioners .
“ The award of the Clarke Prize to Mark Sobsey ,” said Dr . George Tchobanoglous , Professor Emeritus of the University of California Davis and Chair of the Clarke Prize Selection Committee , “ is in recognition of an illustrious career hallmarked by fundamental inquiry , the development of analytical methods and techniques , and the application of research findings and scientific principles to the solution of practical environmental problems .”
Established in 1993 , the Clarke Prize is one of only a dozen water prizes awarded worldwide and has been distinguished by the International Congress of Distinguished Awards as one of the most prestigious awards in the world .
Consisting of a medallion and $ 50,000 award , the NWRI Clarke Prize is awarded each year to recognize research accomplishments that solve real-world water problems and to highlight the importance and need to continue funding this type of research .
