The FSM3 Conference is organized by the World Smart
Capital Initiative, a non-profit organization that provides a
platform for partner cities on social and sustainable urban
innovation.
Building on the success of the two previous International
FSM Conferences in Durban (2011 and 2012), the 3rd
International FSM Conference in Hanoi, January 1922, 2015, will bring together world-class research and
science and donors, cities, utilities, investors, consultants,
governments, service providers, and industries, with
the aim of fostering an effective dialogue on solving the
problem of dealing human waste.
Hosting the 3rd International FSM Conference reflects
Hanoi’s efforts to better understand the full spectrum
of urban sanitation service delivery models for the country.
The Institute of Environmental Science & Engineering
(IESE), the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering
(HUCE), the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage
Association (VWSA) and the Ministry of Construction
will support the international program and a local
program, including site visits.

issues regarding non-conventional water resources. ¬The
two-day conference is organized as part of the SWIM
Sustain Water MED project, funded by the European
Union and the German Government.

disseminate knowledge on engineering best practices,
successful case studies, and innovative solutions in the field
of non-conventional water resources management.

the 7th World Water Forum will take place in Daegu &
Gyeongbuk of Korea. At a time when the UN Millennium
Development Goals set in 2000 is due to expire and the
Sustainable Development Goals should be established,
the 7th World Water Forum will be a historic moment in
drawing more actions to tackle water challenges.
The Forum will serve to offer us an opportunity to succeed
past achievements and step forward to the future via indepth discussions on post-2015.

5th International Dry Toilet Conference

The Global Dry Toilet Association of Finland is organizing
the 5th International Dry Toilet Conference in the
Tampere University of Applied Sciences between 19th
- 22nd August 2015 in Tampere, Finland. The call for
papers is now open.
The main theme for the 2015 Dry Toilet Conference
will be solutions, the aim is to map out what kind of
success stories and possible challenges the different actors
have encountered during the last decades in the field of
ecological sanitation. The participants will discuss concrete
ideas and solutions through sessions and workshops,
covering topics from ecological sanitation and nutrient
recycling to dry toilet technologies and use of excreta as
fertilizer.
