Tanzania & Zanzibar Mount Kilimanjaro | Exotic beaches | Annual Serengeti great migration | Culture
From the sheer variety of wildlife, to epic landscapes, Maasai warriors and the palmfringed beaches on the‘ Spice Island’ of Zanzibar, Tanzania is a country of many parts. Kilimanjaro National Park is one of its most visited regions – not for viewing wildlife, although there is plenty – but to gaze in awe at the snow-capped majesty of the mountain itself. At the incomparable Serengeti National Park, witness vast herds of animals grazing on the seemingly endless shimmering plains. It’ s here also that an epic migration of animals in their millions, predominately wildebeest, follow the ancient rhythm of Africa’ s seasons by embarking on a frenzied search for greener pastures, dodging crocodiles as they cross the river. It’ s a totally awesome spectacle!
Lake Manyara National Park is known for its amazing tree-climbing lions, along with prolific elephants, high numbers of baboons plus thousands of pink flamingos. The vast expanses of UNESCO listed Ngorongoro Conservation Area provide a jawdropping setting for prey and predators which graze and prowl the open grasslands, swamps, lake and acacia woodland. It’ s not just the wildlife that’ s enchanting; exotic Zanzibar, known locally as Unguja, entices with stunning white-sand beaches, vibrant coral reefs and warm, clear blue waters. This former seat of the Sultans and spice trade hub is just the place to relax and reflect post-safari.
