The Moremi Game Reserve is the oldest protected section of the Okavango Delta with a striking number of wildlife species( including the Big Five), birdlife and diverse landscapes. Botswana also has bragging rights where elephants are concerned with the world’ s largest concentration of these majestic beasts residing in Chobe National Park. During game activities, you may also spy big herds of buffalo, massive numbers of lion and healthy leopard populations.

Getting there: Combining South Africa and Botswana is popular and flights from Johannesburg to Maun or Kasane take about 1¾ hours. Chobe is approx 2 hours by road from Victoria Falls in. For standalone Botswana holidays, UK flights also available.

In the south western corner of Chobe National Park stretching to the Linyanti River is Savuti, which along with exceptional predator-rich game viewing, particularly lion, cheetah and hyena, it serves up numerous activities. A wonderful way to absorb the incredible wildlife scenes is aboard one of the sophisticated houseboats which gracefully drift along the tranquil Chobe River.
