DAY 1 Durban / Bergville , Northern Drakensberg
On arrival , collect your hire car and set off for Northern Drakensberg . Your home , Montusi Mountain Lodge , is one of the few destinations with a panoramic vista of Drakenberg ’ s most famous feature , the Amphitheatre escarpment .
DAYS 2-3 Bergville , Northern Drakensberg
Those seeking an adrenalin rush have access to numerous exciting activities , from a hair-raising Free Fall King Swing and Bungee Bounce to quad bike river tours and more . Other leisure pursuits include hiking , golf , horse-riding , tennis and mountain biking , although you ’ re of course welcome to perfect the art of doing nothing should you prefer .
DAY 4 Bergville , Northern Drakensberg / Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park
Drive north east to the vast Hlujluwe-iMfolozi Park and your well placed lodge , which has spectacular views over Big Five territory .
DAY 5 Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park
Rise early and set out on the back of an open game viewing vehicle as the sun rises . You never know what will appear around the corner , but this huge park is home to the Big Five as well as many other creatures great and small . Return to the lodge for time to relax before you set out once more in the late afternoon on another quest to spot some of Africa ’ s most magnificent beasts .
DAY 6 Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park / Umhlanga
Drive south to upmarket Umhlanga , which is ten miles north of Durban . Laze on the gorgeous sandy beach , browse shops or dive into the array of watersports .
DAY 7 Umhlanga / Durban Your tour concludes as you return your car to Durban airport .
