Tyre Stewardship Australia Free accreditation supporting responsible fleet tyre management
For many fleet operators, tyre management is focused on procurement, maintenance and safety. But an increasingly important question sits at the end of the tyre lifecycle: what happens once those tyres leave your vehicles?
Across Australia, more than 67 million equivalent passenger units reach end-of-life each year. Without proper collection and processing pathways, used tyres can become a significant environmental and compliance risk, including illegal dumping, stockpiling or export to poorly regulated markets.
Tyre Stewardship Australia( TSA) works with industry to address this challenge through the Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme – a free, national accreditation program that promotes responsible tyre management across the supply chain.
For fleets, TSA Accreditation provides assurance that used tyres are collected and processed through verified operators. Accredited participants commit to recognised standards for tyre collection, transport and processing, helping ensure tyres are managed through legitimate downstream pathways. demonstrating responsible end-of-life management is becoming an increasingly important part of fleet operations.
Today, more than 1,700 businesses across the tyre supply chain are accredited through the TSA scheme, including retailers, recyclers, collectors and fleet operators.
