Executive Summary continued to work with the Global Fleet Networking Consortium to share knowledge across the globe. I will continue to make a meaningful difference in people’s life’s and create lasting business networks. For fun, I plan to continue my passion for great wine, good food and outstanding friends. It’s hard to image how technology will impact the next 10 years. Hopefully, I can get a phone fully integrated with my body so there’s no device to lose and I don’t have to charge it. We will see acceptance of autonomous vehicles but first we’ll have to deal with the ethical dilemmas of scenario’s where the autonomous vehicle must decide which pedestrian to kill if there is no other alternative. Perhaps the greatest challenge of the 2020’s will be who owns the metadata from our online footprint, personal tracking assisted by connected mobile phones and wearables and of course the data produced from our connected vehicle. It seems clear from reports around the globe that vehicles manufacturers 4 ISSUE 20 2019 / WWW.AFMA.ORG.AU are drawing up battle plans to insist they own the data produced by the vehicle we purchased from them. This assertion is brought on by loss of revenue from reduced service intervals for battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and potentially dwindling vehicle sales by a new generation of youth happy to rideshare rather than own a vehicle. Taking just one year at a time, AfMA’s vision for 2020 includes: - • Commence new cohorts for the Diploma of Leadership and Management in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane • Grant general scholarships on behalf of Pedders Brakes & Suspension, Autorola, NTT DATA Figtree Systems and Geotab • Grant young leaders under 30 and women in fleet scholarships on behalf of Toyota Motor Corporation Australia and Toyota Fleet Management • Launch the accredited individual supplier membership and associated learning paths
