Increase your
knowledge and network
with leading experts
WORDS BY DANIEL BRAID
D
on’t blink twice. That date on your
desktop calendar is correct. February
has arrived and with Christmas and New
Year behind us hopefully you’ve had a chance
to catch up on some much need R&R and
hopefully some treasured time with your family
and friends. And if you’re super disciplined
maybe you’re even one of the small percentage
who are still going strong in sticking with your
New Year’s Resolution.
But now you’re back in the office, thinking
ahead to what you want your 2019 professional
year to be can seem a little daunting. Naturallyl
it’s important to plan out what your goals and
objectives are for the year ahead and how
you hope to achieve them. For many of us it
could be an expansion of your fleet size due
to organisational growth and development, or
maybe it could be cutting back and attempting
to do more in your role with less money,
resources or time at your disposal.
A common trend among many of our members
has been how to introduce hybrids or full EVs
into your fleets, and for others the bottom line of
their role is finding ways to better monitor driver
performance and efficiency through telematics.
As a peak industry body the AfMA charter is to
promote Fleet Management as a profession in
its own right, to provide knowledge, information
and resources to our Members and to lobby and
advocate on behalf of the fleet industry and we
hope to continue doing that throughout this year.
So whatever your background is in fleet
management or the automotive sector in general,
the upcoming 2019 Fleet Conference & Exhibition
is a chance to not only network but to deepen
your overall knowledge. As you can see on the
following page there is a wide scope of content
planned across three big days this May and
we encourage you all as members, contacts,
and friends of AfMA to all join us for what will
hopefully be our biggest and best conference yet.
“Our annual conference is designed to highlight the road ahead
including technology and government policy whilst providing
educational sessions designed to create a knowledge transfer
between experts and practitioners”
Mace Hartley, AfMA Executive Director
