Executive
Summary
Mace Hartley
Executive Director
The past few months have been a time of
growth, development and renewed connections
as we strive to advocate best practice within
the fleet industry. The year is certainly flying, but
here at AfMA we remain dedicated to providing
you and your organisation with continued
knowledge, support and advice just as you do
within your own fleet and organisation.
AfMA continues to encourage awareness and
enthusiasm for our 2018 Fleet Conference &
Exhibition in Melbourne which is coming up in
just over a fortnight on May 17-18. There is a
growing sense of excitement and anticipation
from our speakers, our exhibitors and our
sponsors and we’re certain it will exceed their
expectations, providing an invaluable networking
opportunity whilst delivering meaningful
educational content.
Tickets and more information for this major
conference are available at afma.net.au/
conference2018. There are various packages
available to suit the needs of your organisation
– no matter what size or makeup you are. As a
special offer, Small Businesses will be able to
attend both days of our 2018 Conference for as
little as $544.50, thanks to the generous support
of our Small Business/Fleet Sponsor, Macquarie
Leasing. We would also like to thank our entire
sponsorship team, along with our event partners
Toyota Fleet Management Australia and Toyota
Motor Company Australia for their continued
support in making this event possible.
In this issue of FleetDrive we take the
opportunity to hear from a few of our new
and returning speakers about what they hope

to share and inspire us with at this year’s
conference. This year we are particularly
excited to welcome 50+ speakers, 40+
exhibitors and host 20+ educational sessions.
These educational opportunities are set to be
a major highlight for our local, national and
international delegates.
Also this month are new features on the
future of mobility, how to set up a fleet safety
committee, understanding vehicles-as-a-
service, as well as an update on fringe benefits
tax. Plus don’t forget to check out our regular
Around The World feature for all the latest fleet
movements from here and across the globe.
We would again like to thank our members,
suppliers and partners for their ongoing support
of AfMA and of the fleet industry in general. In
particular we would like to acknowledge our
corporate partners Hyundai Motor Company
Australia, Manheim and NTT Data Figtree
Systems for their invaluable support to AfMA.
Finally we would like to welcome RedBook and
Kids Under Cover to the AfMA family as new
Corporate Partners.
RedBook fulfils the needs of industry in many
ways by providing accurate and valuable data
to assist in underpinning various financial
decisions of organisations.
AfMA is soon to release a web based Whole
of Life Cost Calculator where much of the
underlying data will be provided by RedBook.
This valuable tool will be made available to
members and will enable them to compare the
whole of life cost of multiple vehicles.
