VITAL MOVEMENT 5 Moves to Sculpt a Sexy Lower Body By RASHIDA A. MARSHALL Shape and tone your lower body with these 5 simple, moves requiring minimal equipment. CURTSY LUNGES W/ DB FRONTAL RAISE Areas Worked: Quadriceps, Gluteus Maximus, Hamstrings, Calves, Deltoids, Trapezius 1 2 Begin standing in basic position. Step the right leg behind the left, “crossing legs” to perform the lunge to resemble a common curtsy move. Simultaneously, raise arms to become parallel with the ground. Step back into the starting position, lowering arms back down and repeat on the opposite side. 1 2 3 SUMO SQUATS TO PASSE Areas Worked: Adductors, Quadriceps, Gluteus Maximus, Calves Begin with feet placed in squat position and feet turned outwards. Feet should be turned outwards to resemble a ballet plie. The first part of the move requires a sumo squat. Immediately after returning to standing position, push off onto one leg while bringing the other leg to passe, a common ballet pose which requires the toe be brought to the knee.
